i am using a mac mini as my home server, i have two usb printers plugged in and am sharing them on the network, we have both windows and mac machines in the house. all of the macs can find and connect to the printers, as can my windows 7 machines using the Bonjour Printer Wizard, but none of the windows 8 machines can see the printers, and when they can, dont have the correct printer driver available. anyone got any idea whats going on? does bonjour not support windows 8 yet? or am i missing something?

Try reset(off and on) your router and after that run the bonjour setup and see if the printer comes and connect fine.
fwiw bonjour working with no problem for me on my win8 laptop, might want to check if you have the latest version installed.

that doesnt help - when the printers show up on the printer wizard the correct printer driver isnt in the list, in fact there are very few printers in the list..
I dont know what to say, only my macs i had to deal with printer drivers.
Fwiw i have my printer plug on the time capsule, never a problem.

Gday Julius, sorry for the delayed reply, havent been on here for a while.
i ended up using the CUPS printer sharing service in osx server (detailed here: http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/how-to-share-printers-with-lion-servers-cups-inter.html) once setup has worked flawlessy on every machine ive set it up on, windows xp to windows 8 as well as osx. i cant find the exact site where i got the info for setting up with windows, if you cant work it out let me know and ill have a better look, or write one up for you myself.
