Boot Camp 3.1 for Windows 7 is here

So... is there no known solution for the AppleMNT.sys BSoD other than disabling HFS support entirely by renaming the drivers? It's depressing that this issue is still around in 3.1. It's a class A dealbreaker.

The odd thing is that I never had this problem with the public Win7 RC and BC 3.0. It was only after I installed a fresh retail copy of Win7 and BC 3.1 that I started seeing this issue on my MBP.

The download won't work

I've tried to download 3.1 about four times now and it fails every time,
I tried from the apple site first (all it said was there was a problem and it didn't work)
Then I tried from the apple software update in windows. And it said it encountered a problem and if it persists to choose "download only from the tools menu"
I tried that way twice and both times when it's just about done a message comes up saying that boot camp has no signature and the download has been removed.

So annoying, how the hell do you get this download.
btw I'm running a 2009 imac 24" with SL and win7 32bit with bootcamp 3

iMac 27 bootcamp 3.1 problem

Ive just installed the new update of bootcamp 3.1 for windows 7 64 bits.
Everything run's fine except for the fact that the image quality displayed in the screen is a bit pixeled. I just saw the same image in mac osx and in the windows 7, and you can see that the image displayed in windows looks a lot more pixeled than in osx.

Does anyone knows why this happens? The same thing happen's in games.

Sounds like a color depth issue. What are the display settings in W7?

Sounds like your resolution is too low...

The resolution I have is 2560 x 1440 with 32 bits true color.
The image was fine before I installed the bootcamp update.

Have you tried changing it and then changing it back to make sure the settings are what they are?

yep. Did that and it looks the same. I think I must wait for a new update of bootcamp now.. :S

I am going to boot camp my mbp tomorrow. Will I be fine if I install windows 7 under boot camp 3.0.1? Because the 3.1 update file is .exe and Im guessing I download that right when I get windows 7 installed?

Yeah, I did this recently. Come to think of it, I think that's the only option that's available. I think you do have to do a software update on snow leopard (not all the apps, just the OS X).

I guess im not the only one notice this. My MP 2009 also have the same issue no auto fan control. I do Video transcoding and i notice the CPU Temperature hit 90 Deg C" but the fan never ram up. i quickly stop the process and force to use Parallels to have the job done in Mac environment. I really hope Apple can have this fix otherwise Bootcamp is just a show off and nothing more.😡

Hmm, that's weird. My 2009 MacBook Pro's fans automatically speed up when needed, and I don't even need boot camp to be installed.

I noticed that, if you use smcfancontrol in Mac OS X to, for instance, bring ten up as high as possible, and then reboot unto Windows, the fans will stay locked to that speed. Not sure if it works on all Macs though.
