New to Mac OS but need to install Windows 10 for some work apps that have no Mac version and bit of gaming
but having trouble with boot camp assistant I cannot seem to get past "partitioning drive..." it takes ages and nothing moves past half-way or so.

Not sure if it helps but this specs of iMac

⁃ iMac (Retina 5k, 27-inch, 2019)
⁃ running macOS Catalina
⁃ 1TB Fusion drive installed

Any ideas from long time mac users ?

Yes what format are you using the BootCamp partition? Windows setup will have to make a NTFS partition fir the Fat32 partition you make. So BootCamp is a partition tool and Windows drivers installer!

Not sure if this is the corect info you need but on Disk Utility it shows as APFS Volume on both Macintosh HD and Macintosh HD- Data
