I tried triple booting with osx windows and ubuntu. However after making the partitions and installing on the new partition (keeping os x and windows intact) I can no longer see the Windows option when holding in the option key at startup. The Windows partition is there and I can see it on my desktop but for some reason it is not a selection when starting up. How do I fix this?

Installing ubuntu probably screwed up the MBR (master boot record). I'm really shaky on windows stuff, but I know boot.ini provides the windows bootloader with information on where the windows partition is.
It should look something like this

[boot loader]
timeout=10
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(x)\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(x)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

In terminal you can do a "diskutil list" to tell you what partition number your xp drive is.

Hope you can make some sense of that
