VMWare Fusion is WMware's competitor to Parallels. I'm sure Parallels works fine, you can most likely upgrade your license fairly cheap to a later version of Parallels. If you are not doing GPU demanding gaming on windows, VMware Fusion/Parallels is much more practical. I have not used Parallels for years, but I'm guessing you have similar functionality to create a VMware of existing Windows installation.
