boot camp partitioning on macbook

trying to partitition 15gb for windows on my dad's black macbook. I see the spinning beach ball and it's been a few minutes. I can move the cursor, but I can't click anything. How long does it take to partition the drive? I hope it hasn't frozen.

Yeah, this happened to me too. I'm suprised Apple didn't do this with a progress bar or at least a message saying "Warning, your system may lock up for a couple of minutes". I was worried as well when i performed the partitioning.
