Hi there,

I have a problem installing either Windows Vista or XP when using boot camp on my new iMac. I set the partition size to 32Gb and I insert the cd and click the Start Installation button. The mac then restarts and tries to boot from the CD, but it just goes to a black screen with a flashing cursor in the top left.

This happens for both Win XP SP2 and Vista. It's like it doesn't want to boot from the CD at all. It seems odd that it won't boot from EITHER of the CDs.

I have tried holding down option and selecting the CD without boot camp but it does the same thing.

The CDs are genuine OEM copies that I got when I built my last two PCs and are not direct from any manufacturer, like Dell or HP.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
