Boot Camp Windows XP sound won't work. Unlike other threads

I've installed and reinstalled xp and vista on bootcamp. I've uninstalled and reinstalled drivers. The forums don't help either.

The drivers are all recognized. The only sounds I hear are the noise when windows boots up, and a clicking noise when I mute or unmute the computer. Nothing else. Anybody have any suggestions? Please help

Try installing this, when I had problems with XP sound under boot camp, I would install this and then re-run the Boot Camp setup

I ran the file, but I'm not sure what you mean by run boot camp setup again. Surely you don't mean reinstall windows. Could you be a bit more specific?

After you install the file I uploaded, you need to insert your Mac OS X disc and re-run the Boot Camp setup

The boot camp setup won't run now. I get error 2727 and if I go into the cd and only try to run the sigmatel setup, it also crashes.
