Boot from Firewire Drive?

I pulled the hard drive from my G5
put it in a FireWire enclosure
Held down Option when starting my MBP
MBP doesn't recognize it.

Why?

You cannot use a PPC HD to boot on the MBP. Intel Macs use a different partition scheme.

Regarding the system code, none that I know of.

Also, MBP's can't boot from Firewire. Intel's can only boot from USB. PPC can only boot from Firewire.

I'm 99.9% sure you can boot an Intel Mac using FW.

Incorrect.

MBP's can boot from external FW HDs. Do it all the time. 🙂
