Click to expand... Are you trying to break into someone's Mac? 😀 If such a thing is possible, I know nothing about it. In single-user mode, you can enter "exit" to boot the system, or "shutdown -r now" to immediately and gracefully restart the machine.

M markh789 macrumors newbie Original poster Aug 8, 2010 #3 Haha! Not trying to break in, It's mine own don't panic 🙂 But Id like to not have to authenticate as root, nor change the root password. Maybe even if I could someone crack the root password (impossible, I know - there encrypted).
