Hi everyone,

Just wondering if there is an easy way to boot into recovery mode with a maxwell gpu such as the 970.

If anyone has any experience with this, let me know.

I would try it myself, but am unable to get to my machine at the moment.

1) pay for it (send it to MVC for flashing)

2) install another Mac EFI card (e.g. GT120)

3) swap card which has Mac EFI

I don't know if there is any other way to do it.

You could try to flash it yourself, although that's more along the lines of 1.)

What about installing the nVidia Web Drivers to the Recovery Partition?

EDIT: I spoke before I looked, Apple uses a read-only disk image with a kernel cache for the Recovery partition.

While adding the nVidia Web Drivers to it would be possible, it would not be easy.

Best bet is to flash an EFI Rom to the card and use the boot-args="nv_disable=1".
