Hello, can anyone tell me how to change the name on the boot menu, i recently upgraded to Sonoma from Big Sur which is working great (oclp 1.4.3)
I was trying to change it with terminal but under recovery the csrutil disable is not working, command not found.
I changed the drive name in disk utilities already, but on boot it is still BigSur.

I remember having this issue a few years ago. Must have been on my old 2008 mac pro, going into its last upgrades of macOS - Sierra or High Sierra. Never found a fix. I guess it has to do with older hardware and newer OS'es. I think you'll just have to live with it. (If you're good at searching, you might be able to find the thread I created here on MR forums back then.)

OK, thanks i already changed it in finder but without succes 😊
I have a A1297 (17 inch) from late 2011.
I started with High Sierra last year and installed BigSur with oclp the first time, same thing but i changed it without problems in terminal.
I think it had to do something with the newer version OS.
It only changed the boot logo to Sonoma after updating 🤭
Maybe you can change it with a clean installation, but i'm not gone try it.

Hello, updated my Mac to Sonoma 14.5 and now the bootname has been changed finally 👍🏻
