I recently upgraded my MBP to the entry level 2011 13". I just now swapped the hard drive for the 1TB Samsung Spinpoint MT2 and the bootup time is significantly slower. Why is this happening?

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8G4 Safari/6533.18.5)

Both are 5400rpm - It's probably mostly because you went from 2 platters to 3 (among other factors)

Edit: your 1TB also has a 12ms response time - I think most laptop hard drives are half that. You bought one of the earliest 1tb drives, I wouldn't be be surprised of it's a bit slow.

yeah they are both 5400 rpm. Whats the main difference between the Samsung and WD Scorpio Blue?
