Does anyone know of any bootable esata cards for the MacPro 3,1? Ive been looking around but so far I have only seen ones for the 09 and up.

The Caldigit FASTA-6GU3 Pro is bootable on eSata:

Also is the Sonnet Tempo SSD (Pro):

First off thank you so much for answering, I asked this a couple days ago and no one answered so I thought I was SOL. The Caldigit looks like an awesome choice for my needs (even though the USB 3.0 isn't bootable. Hopefully it all works out without many issues. I know just having 3.0 can cause some so I am a little worried

I have used this little $40 dual channel eSATA card in the past from OWC and it is bootable. It does not support port-multiplier, although they have another model which does (if that is a requirement for you).

I also had a good experience with the CalDigit, but replaced it with a 4 port USB 3.0 card as I no longer needed eSATA.
