Bootcamp and external DVD drive

The super drive on my MBP is bust (water damage). I am planning to get a Lacie Firewire optical drive as a stopgap till I can justify the 240 pounds to get the Apple repair done. I have a question: Will Windows install and run from this external drive? I want to run a few games via Windows and Bootcamp.

Should be able to, just make sure that the Opti Drive you buy says windows compatable. Though, its LaCie, so they really should be.
