How do i run an XP cd image in the bootcamp assistant window?

i dont have the actual CD, only an image...i tried mounting and everything, it doesnt get tricked. thanks

Windows installs during boot, not from the Assistant. That's only for preparing the partition. You will need XP SP2 on a physical CD.

You can burn the image to disk and it will work. Of course, that's assuming the image is of a copy you legally own. Doing anything else would be evil.

The XP system is not that large so just burn the image to a dvd or a cd if it fits. Bootcamp assistant has to boot from a disk. It doesn't do the installing of windows in OSX
