So many of you have probably seen this issue before. I'm installing Windows 7 on a mid 2010 13" that I have done this same thing on over 10 times in the past. The only thing that has changed is I upgraded my RAM from 4gb to 8gb and swapped the HDD for an SSD right before trying to do this again. I don't see that being an issue though. Also, I'm on El Capitan.

I have searched and found plenty of other threads on this site and more that talk about the issue but they are all older and none of them solved the issue for me so I figured I'd start a fresh 2016 post for it and get some new blood in the discussion.

If I restart the machine while its hung up on completing installation it boots into windows but then gives me an error that says it didn't finish installing and that it will now reboot to finish the installation, but then it boots up with the same error. I deleted the partition and tried installing again three times and the same thing happened each time.

Any ideas? Thanks!

Im into the same problem its El Capitan requiring you to have a usb or the Windows ISO? cuz mine im traying to install W10 and right before the laptop its going to reboot it said that had found a boot camp error and faild. I belive that El capitan its not ready to have a 2 OS up n running. I guess our best bet its wait for any OSX updates they might fix the problem.thanks @ozreth for openong this threath

Whoa! I just got it to work! After the first time it says "fishing installation" (it will do this again after rebooting) and it restarts, I booted into OSX and then ejected the Windows 7 disc. I then restarted and booted into Windows and it finished. Crazy.
