im loving my new base 15 inch MacBook Pro. The screen size makes all the difference in the world to my daily workflow.

Im getting ready to install windows and test boot camp for ArcGIS. What is a good amount of space for a boot camp partition? I’m a little concerned that the 256gb ssd might be too small, but I do have an external ssd I can use. Any tips or tricks for managing space in boot camp would be appreciated. I haven’t used boot camp since 2012!

It all matter how much you are going to use Windows. I have the 512gb drive and dedicated 350gb to Window leaving a smaller partition for Apple. But I use this laptop only on Windows.

Make you choice carefully as changing partition size is not easy and will require an additional app to change the size.

There are Windows laptops with 32 gigs of eMMC, so anything above that is definitely enough for a clean Windows install. A 64 GB partition should work well for some ArcGIS and trying things around.

Take into account that the hibernation image will be the equivalent of your RAM size on Windows. For example, my MBP has 16 GB of RAM so I lose 16 GB unless I disable hibernation.
