*Easier partitioning using presets for popular sizes

Does this mean you can have multiple partitions now? I'm guessing not

Just a word of warning...

I just tried to install the BootCamp 1.1.2 update on my MacBook and I got a Blue Screen of Death when the Mac driver CD was trying to update the Apple Keyboard Support. Now I can't even get logged back in to XP because windows won't recognize the MacBook keyboard to let me enter my password. :(

Next step is to hook up an external keyboard to see if Windows will see that one...

Has anyone tested the drivers with Vista RC-1?

That's what I'm running on my MBP and I was wondering if anyone has gotten them to work (I can't download Bootcamp here, so I'm having my dad download it, burn it on a cd and mail it to me).

OK so here's something interesting. I've just updated to v1.1.2 having had v1.1.1 successfully installed and running. The problem is that now -- after the update -- I no longer have a right click (Right Apple + click). This is on a MacBook Pro.

Has anyone seen this and/or have any useful suggestions?

...And, of course, it gets even more interesting. Now (on the third reboot) the right Apple Key-click combination is actually working, ie it functions as a right click.

Interesting drivers... ;-)

I have tried rebooting many times, and tried rollingback/reinstalling the keyboard drivers but still no right click

Try two fingers on the trackpad and a click (ie while "holding down" the two fingers on the track pad). Also make certain you've actually "selected" a focus point: ie, (single) click on a desktop icon and then try to right-click using either the method I just indicated or holding down the Right Apple key while clicking.

I use Norton SystemWorks both for AV/security but also because of its "One Button Checkup" utility. It is a Registry cleaner. Run that -- or a similar such utility -- a couple of times just to make certain. I would also check in the Device Manager to see if there are any problematic devices -- these are indicated by either yellow exclamation marks (less serious) or red Xs (more serious if you NEED the device as it means it is disabled).

On my system I have a single yellow under Human Interface Devices and that is ignorable (at least for me). I also have three red Xs under Other devices, which is also ignorable. I suspect these are at least partially related to the internal "iSite" camera, which I don't use.

to get another interim solution until you sort out what's happening on your system.

A boot into Safe Mode is also a good idea when configurations seem to be a bit odd. Boot into Safe Mode by holding down the F8 key after selecting Windows (but BEFORE the Windows logo comes up) and you should go into a menu interface that lets you select a Safe Mode start. Interrupt the normal startup process enough times and Windows puts you into that same menu. Once you've gotten to a desktop in Safe Mode, you can just do a regular restart. Safe Mode loads a small footprint of drivers and doing this can help the system sort out which drivers to load first etc -- kind of like cleaning up Extensions and Preferences.

too bad this still doesn't fix the 23" ACD issue with XP. Apple needs to get on this.. it's pretty sad that they haven't fixed it yet.

I've been using it for a lot longer than that. I suspect you may be thinking about the "expire" period for un-authorized Windows installations.

One thing fixed is now CD eject only ejects first tray, second one with combination of ALT+EJECT as in OS X! NICE!! And not to mention closing works :))

Thank you Apple!

No you do not have to burn another driver cd.

Open Bootcamp and click on Utility in the menu bar, choose "Save MacIntosh Drivers to Folder", then copy that folder to a flash stick and use that in your XP.

it didnt work for me, the copied file, not your method.

Nono, I have a legit copy of Windows, I get it very cheap myy cousin works at Microsoft :).

It just says Bootcamp is a trial version when you install it so I was wondering.

Multiple Partitions possible with BootCamp?

does right clikcing with the trackpad work now? and two finger scrolling? that's all i am interested in.

Two finger scrolling works great when scrolling down but its twitchy when trying to scroll up. As far as right clicking by two finger tapping, ehh not even a peep from windows. Heck I don't even get single finger left click taps to work.

Tapping the pad itself as a left click is not yet implemented (as v1.1.2); however, I get two finger + click to function as a right click.

However, I do get a "wobble" cursor at times and have to plug in a USB mouse to solve the problem: ie after using the plug-in mouse for a few moments, I can unplug the mouse and go back to only using the trackpad.

My sense is that this phenomenon is connected in some way with the two finger scroll process (like I'm having a second finger 'too close' to the pad so it interprets it as a second finger).

Any ideas or suggestions? Anyone else seen this?

I got my C2D MBP today. Thought I'd quickly have a shot of gaming in windows, and have spent the day trying to get windows to work. I'm using bootcamp and the install works fine. Restart and install the drivers. First time it crashed half way through, and by crash I mean just switched off. Rebooted everything worked fine excpet bluetooth. I tried to install drivers again, seemed to work but no bluetooth still. So I started again, unpartitioned, repartitioned and finally install again. Once again a perfect install by windows, bravo and all that. Install the drivers, all goes fine, bluetooth symbol pops up, great. Do you want to restart, yes! I restart and then it won't boot. I get c:\windows\system32\pci. (or somethign similar) is missing can not boot. Try repair using XP CD. Not sure if this would work I went through the whole process again of installing windows, and got the same error of pci missing. What the hell is going on? Any ideas anyone. So annoyed, I could have lived without bluetooth under windows, but oh no I had to try fix it. Great! I dont even use windows except to game, and I've spent nearly all day trying to get it to work, I'm unimpressed!

And yes I am aware it is beta, but no one seems to have had this problem? Could the fact I'm using a CD-RW disc for the drivers have anythign to do with it? I can't see any reason why this would unless one of the drivers is related to the cd drive?

I have a problem receiving faxes. My external modem does not respond to an incoming call. I was wondering if installing bootcamp would solve the problem, seeing that it deals with the Idle Sleep bug. Would bootcamp be save in the iMac? I am not planning to install Windows - I am glad to get rid of it - to be honest.

Core Duo 2 Bootcamp stuff

I'm having the exact same problem on my new C2D MacBook Pro. I can't even get into safe mode as half the time the keyboard just locks and when it doesn't windows Blue Screens. If anyone has any insight, it would be most appreciated.

i am using wireless keyboard and mighty mouse on my iMac under 1.1, does does this fix the bug so you no longer have to switch keyboard on and off to get bluetooth to recognise it on startup?

oh and does eject key now work on bt keyboard?

happened to me, it was fine using bootcam previous beta version.

but this version hangs and shows BSOD telling something about Keymagic.sys during the installation of the drivers, i rebooted then no bluetooth icon. but the rest of the drivers are just fine.

and the 2 fingers scroll seems lagging and not usable to use.

Two finger tapping, on finger tapping, and scrolling doesn't work on my 1.83 MBP at all. I have tried everything including reinstalling windows, bootcamp, OS X, all the drivers everything.

Any Ideas are welcome.
