Border around screen normal?

I just noticed an unused border about a millimeter or two around my screen. Is this normal? This is the first time i've noticed it and it's really bothering me

it is indeed normal.

Yes, it is like this on every device since the original iPhone and iPod touch.

I don't really think this is facepalm worthy. It's not really something he could've seen looking at the forums and surely not one of the main things people are always talking about on here. So, in this case, I say give him a break this time. Now if it had been something about the "other speaker" or how to force quit a 3GS app, well then let facepalms fly. 🙂 Otherwise newbies are afraid to ask anything, right? My two cents.

If he was a newbie I'd let it slip, but he's a regular, so he'd be seeing iPhone pictures out the ass. I say it's facepalm worthy. 😛

No, not the bezel. Look closely, and you're see a millimeter or so of unused space. Kind of looks like it's part of the display. It's much easier to see in sunlight.

I recently noticed it as well, the thing is, on some 3gs phones, in sunlight, or strong light, the border is hard to see as it's just about black, but, on some phones like mine unfortunately, it's not nearly as dark, but is a fairly noticable and distracting greenish color, I went to the AT&T store and compared several, some had the greenish, noticable border, while others had a darker one that was all but invisible. The greenish border is definitely annoying as it doesn't blend so well with the edge of the active screen.

but, ya its normal...just never really noticed it till i was in the sunlight.
