Bose Companion 5 - CPU hungry kernel_task

Hi!

Just bought the Bose Companion 5. Awesome speakers, just one minor problem.

It seems that whenever I start playing audio the kernel_task cpu load goes up to about 12% and the CPU on my MBpro easily heats up to about 70°C. I know that's not really problematic, but still it's quiet stupid that my computer runs hot when playing some audio over an external soundcard

Is this due to the fact that the set just uses a generic (CPU hungry) Usb soundcard driver? Any solution?

why do you use an external sound card in the first place?

The way I see it the set has an external soundcard inside of the acoustimass module. You connect your mac through USB to the module. A normal line in is also available but then no 5.1 sound is simulated.
