no there were definitely some native americans that made pyramids... they weren't anywhere near the scale of egyptian pyramids, but they definitely existed... I want to say Connecticut, but I'm not sure...

Um, I don't think so. If so, we would have found some way to make obscene amounts of money from it by now. That's what people in Connecticut do.

edit: found some stuff... it looks like North Americans were "mound builders" rather than actual pyramid makers, but some of their stuff is pretty big. Like Monk's Mound in Illinois... not bad

Are you talking about the "Hopewell Culture"?

There are craploads in North and South America, especially the Yucatan.

Why is it that you people think of the Americas as everywhere?

Mexico's in North America.

It was considered Central America where I went to school.

Mound builders, Ohio river valley area.

As stated in the Foundation's statute (articles 6 and 7), their intended field of operations is not just the Visoko area, but Bosnia and Herzegovina in general. This is a precedent aimed at smothering civilization values in Bosnia. This could mark the beginning of a "Taliban" era in Bosnia, a nation with 3 million people, highly controled media, controlled academia, and above all mafia-style politicians & corrupted judiciary with over 1 million court cases open as we speak...
Must be pretty well covered up, I never saw any indication of this during my last visit.

Makes you wonder what could be buried right underneath
your very own feet. ;) :)

Maybe in a few centuries, people will be digging up Las Vegas and scratching their heads wondering why it's such a freak show. Pyramids, the Eiffel Tower, and a bunch of other stuff all cluttered together. ;)

Haha, you went to a bad school. :p Either that, or your geography teacher isn't very smart. ;)

On second thought, maybe it used to be considered central America. I don't know how old you are, or if the "North America" definition ever changed.

I'd say that technically, 'Central America' doesn't exist for the purposes of this discussion, since it's not a continent. Mexico is definitely in North America, since it is part of NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement). Interestingly, it is not part of CAFTA (Central American Free Trade Agreement), although the US is.

Yes, that would quite the site to uncover! ;) :)

I'm with Abstract on that one. 3 countries in North America and Mexico is definitely one of them. Where'd you go to school? :p :D

This is what I learned in school as well. Although, I have hear Mexico being lumped in with Latin/Central America on occasion. But usually, Mexico is considered part of North America.

On a side note, isn't Mexico part of NAFTA?

<sarcasm>With immigration the way it is, the US is becoming more like Central America</sarcasm>

I too am wondering how they became covered with so much dirt... Aliens, perhaps?
And is it just me or do pyramids always manage to come in groups of three?

Diatribe said:
Probably the same way all the pyramids here got covered with so much dirt. ;)
The spaniards covered them to help the locals forget their "heathen" Gods? I think I once heard that, but I'm not sure. It still is a lot of dirt though... Anyway, does this mean that there's a forgotten Bosnian civilization that we know nothing about? That'd be pretty cool.
