The bottom row of my home screen buttons (phone, safari, mail, ipod) don't respond when pressed, although the rest of the screen works. I thought it must have been a hardware problem, except I can still use the slider to get in and out of the home screen, which occupies the same space. I tried a restore, however, and it didn't seem to fix it. Has anyone else had this problem?

I have a friend who had this problem on his first generation iPhone. Apple gave him a replacement phone, but I believe he made the exchange within the warranty period.

IIRC, the problem was the "digitizer" or something similar.
