I replaced the back housing of my 3g, and now the bottom part of my screen won't respond. I would say it's about the bottom .5 cm of the screen. This translates to me not being able to type much in portrait mode, because i can't hit the space bar, or the return button. Which sucks because not all apps let you type in landscape mode.

When I replaced the housing, I made sure (or so I thought) to put everything back in the correct order. I did it a second time to make sure. I also took apart the screen, in order to clean it.

I have restarted the phone many times. I even restored, then jailbroke again.

Any ideas?

Sounds like your touch panel is malfunctioning. I would suggest you open the phone up and make sure the number 1 connector is properly installed and that the ribbon is in good shape(not torn at all). Also make sure the glass itself isn't damaged. If after you've checked the connection and the ribbon and your touch panel still won't respond I would say its been damaged and needs to be replaced.

Thanks for your response. I've checked and rechecked. I think i need a new screen.
