Bought 15" MBP online apple store - getting a replacement?

I recently bought a mbp and the headphone jack is producing a huge hissing sound. I haven't experienced this on any other mac.. (lucky?). I was wondering what the replacement policy on this. Should I first take it into an apple store (around 5 miles away from me).

how many days ago did you buy it?

If it's within 14 days, more than likely they'll replace it. If not, and it's still under AppleCare, they'll fix it.
