So My 2010 Macbook Pro is still running strong! I just had to buy a new battery. I was debating on getting the new Macbook Pro M1 but decided to get the black Friday deal for the Air. Got the 8GB and 512GB SSD. I don’t plan on playing video games and editing stuff on it. I’ll use it for surfing, watching videos, and doing some Microsoft Word. Excited to pick it up @ Bestbuy.

Congratulations 🙂
I went with the Air 8 months or so ago. It's perfect for my use case (much like your own).

I also was forth and back between the new 14" and 16" spending quite some money for my first MacOS device, but at the end I ordered a MBA M1 16G/1TB refurbished. Love the performance and portability. Haven't regret my decision so far. And with part of the saving, I replaced my 25" 2560x1440 monitor with a new 27" 4K, which arrived today. 4K Youtube sample videos are absolutely stunning.

Thanks, guys! I was looking at the

Apple - MacBook Pro - 13" Display With Touch Bar - Intel Core i5 - 16GB Memory - 512GB SSD - Space Gray

from Bestbuy. It's for sale right now for 1299 down from 1799. I think Apple and Intel don't match together. Glad I went with M1 Macbook.

I think the only limitation I have seen with M1 Macs is their lack of ability to drive two displays in addition to the laptop display. If I closed my laptop, I assume it will allow dual display on the two external displays, but not sure.
