I found the silicone Apple cases to be very superior to the leather cases as far as grip and durability.

Yeah, it will get more grippy over time as your hand oils get into it. But it is leather so expect scuffs, scratches etc more than a normal case. It happened far too easily when I had one infelt I needed a case for my case. But the leather ones feel the best while holding the phone.

Go with the nomad leather cases, those feel much more better and like actual leather.

I love Apple accessories but yes the last two years I’ve bought them and they felt very fake and very slippery right out the box

I am only on day 2 of the leather case and its already much different in terms of grip from day one, my first thought was wow this is slippery but its already feeling so much better

I think they fit better than the Nomad. The Nomad are nice don’t get me wrong but I always go back to the Apple leather. I’ve applied a mink oil on mine that gives them a water resistance and a nice grip without ruining the leather. It’s the same kiwi shoe brand made for leathers.
