...the battery health is at 95% already.

Should I ignore it or have Apple look at it?

This is a first for me in all the  devices I've had.

Do you use Coconut battery monitor? If not, I suggest everyone to use it to monitor battery status.

I would return anything if it's 95% left of the product. Would you be happy with 3 wheels car or watch skipping 1 second every minute? I don't think so.

i think 95% is low for an apple notebook that is said to be a brand new, (unrefurbished) MacBook Air.
but its only minimally surprising.
97% or so for a straight out of the box very new laptop is often the case.
battery health % is not the best way to understand if something is odd in this case.
rather, check out the cycle count:
apple/About This Mac/System Report/Power/Battery Information/Health Information/Cycle Count
your (new) device to show it is indeed brand new, should have only a few cycle counts (under 10 or so).

Silly analogy. Three wheels on a car makes it undriveable. Ninety-five percent battery on a MBA, and it's still perfectly usable. I'd just keep the thing and move on with my life. It'll be fine.

I've had my Air for about 3 months and have already seen a decrease in full charge capacity. It's gone from over 100% capacity to about 98% and I hardly use the thing. I find it odd since both my phone and iPad have remained at 100% capacity after 1 year (iPad) and 7 months (phone). I've read that MacBook batteries are rated for 1000 charge cycles as opposed to 500 for the phones, so this is slightly concerning although probably not a big deal.

mine is about 94% after 74 cycles and 10 months old.

It degrease fast from my POV. I don't use it hardly, just internet and video in stream or YouTube .

Mine's 95 after about a year of ownership for a refurb. I would at least take it to the Genius Bar to investigate if you're uncomfortable, but ultimately if you just bought it you should go ahead and return it.

I would run it through a couple of full charging cycles. My battery health for my late 2013 MacBook Pro can vary from 94-97% during use. I will admit that I use it mostly connected to the AC charger. I take it off about once a month to run down the battery and recharge it fully.

95% appears low but maybe it'll go up.

Now it's at 98.1 with 5 cycles. I'll give it another week or so. Got it at BestBuy so I have like 20 more days to return it.

This is pretty much a how’s it will go up and down!! Do you have good battery life?? Is it discharging quickly and randomly? If the answers to these questions are yes and no respectively I wouldn’t warty about it.

Take to Apple ASAP. Their reading will differ from any others and I assume is the most accurate and the one that counts.
