You are missing that I did do that and when I clicked from manual to auto sync I tunes deleted all the playlists I had just created and worked on. In fact It Locked up 3 times in the 2 hours I was working on my stuff. That's what you missed.

I've never heard of that before, never know anyone to create a play-list and then it deletes them all the second you try to sync together.

The only thing i can think of is if your iPhone wasn't connected to your account/library from your iPhone...

I get that you have a gripe about iTunes. In confused as to how the iPhone sucks because of it.

The U2 album is just another special treat from Apple for those with 16GB phones. ;)

If you start out in manual mode and create playlists directly on the device, then change to auto-sync they will be erased because they're only on the device, not in the library. Manual-syncers seem to get burned by creating their playlists directly on the device instead of their library ... one restore and they're toast. I'm not sure that's what happened here, but sounds like it.

I had a old IPhone with ios 4 years ago and I knew Putting music on it would be a choir as it is not drag and drop like on android.

I made ALL my play lists then I dragged the music from my folders one by one. ITunes crashed 3 times and I had to restart. I picked that I wanted to manually do my music well at the end I could tell music was not being added to the phone even tho it was in the playlist. 75 of 91 songs caught my eye. Then I told iTunes to just sync my music with my play lists.

It just deleted all my playlist and music that I setup in iTunes.

Lame as ****. I knew this going in that adding music is **** but wow man 2 hours of work just gone.

also can someone tell me how to delete all this u2 music **** from my folder.

My cousin recently bought iPhone 6 and he exchanged it with Galaxy Note within few days :D I don't know why people aren't liking iPhone as they used to do before...

Syncing music from a computer is a drag on iOS. It always has been. You're absolutely right. Is that it? You're dismissing the whole phone because loading mp3s isn't easy?

I'll fully admit I'd probably have a lot more local music on my device if it wasn't such a PITA to deal with. Instead I just use iTunes Match, which is roughly $2 a month IIRC.

I have browsed for years but I wanted to post because this just pissed me off so much. None of my music is on google...I seemed to have found a minor work around and that's to copy the files to a usb stick. Then drag each folder 1 by 1 to the playlist tab to the left...and now some music files are not copying over... maybe 3 or 4 files so I have to see whats going on with that.

.flac do not want to port over. maybe its unsupported

If you would like to convert to Apple Lossless, check out xACT. It lets you convert the music as a batch, and since it's lossless, you don't loose anything in the conversion.

Agreed, dude. As much as I prefer iOS to Android, iTunes is a flaming piece of sh.it software. Everyone I know hates it. Apple's always shifting options around or outright hiding/removing them after an update. The UI/UX's been on a downhill trajectory for nearly a decade.

Here's what a functional iTunes looks like:

No... THIS is what a functional iTunes looks like. See the window is slightly different... with the window controls on the top left instead of the top right... with the 3 color coordinated buttons. THAT is a functional version of iTunes.

And these are your only two posts. Makes sense.
Obvious Apple hater confirmed.

Yet, the iPhones continue to outsell the Notes every year.... Go figure! :D

iTunes sucks. We know this and yet still buy iPhones. There's always a way to do things, it just might be longwinded and leave you a little mad. For a company who pride themselves on the mantra 'it just works' and claim to make everything easy to use, iTunes is a lingering turd. Why don't they let Jonny Ive loose on it? He couldn't make it any worse I'm sure.

Don't know why people hate on iTunes, it does everything I would ever need it to do. It has its problems, but I don't think hating it is a good idea.

It's awful. A rigid, walled, difficult mess of a system. Sure it does most things we need it to but for a first time user it's a dreadful, time consuming and non-user friendly dog of a program. So unlike Apple and iOS/OS X.

"Awful", "rigid", "walled", "difficult mess of a system" perfectly describe the exact problems you're having with the software.

I'm used to it and have been using it for years. I'm merely stating that I can fully understand why newcomers to iPhone find it a complete mess. I'm in agreement with them and I use it as little as humanly possible.

I use OS X. iTunes on El Capitan is a POS.

iTunes on my Snow Leopard installation is so much better it's not even funny. And I don't have to use a separate app just to manage my eBooks!

Maybe it's just me, but iTunes has never once given me any trouble. Not now, not ever. I don't think it's perfect by any means, but I find it extremely easy to get my music into iTunes and onto my phone. What exactly is so troublesome for people?

To be perfectly honest, I can't ever remember iTunes even crashing on me, and my Mac is far from top of the line.
