Not exactly. You could probably set permissions on the .exe to only allow certain users to execute it (You'd need NTFS & possibly Pro rather than Home). But if you did that to IE you'd probably cause a whole world of problems as IE is so deeply integrated in to XP.

Thanks edesignuk. Stupid Windows! Oh well. If I do end up setting up the Windows machine for the house I guess I'll just need to get rid of the 15 shortcuts on the desktop and menu/start bar that launch IE, and hope for the best.

I suppose I could even leave the IE icons in place, but have them launch Firefox instead.

Maybe it'll be cheaper to get VPC or something.

A cheapie PC works better than VPC. I can't run WinXP on my PowerBook. It does OK with Win98, but thats because I used 98lite on it.

IE, XP, what's the difference? IE does every freakin thing that windows does, really... :p
 
Thanks Mechcozmo, for saving me the trouble of installing VPC and XP on my PowerBook. Maybe VPC and Win2K would be a better option?
