thank god the screen on this one doesn't have that blotch. and thank goodness the screen is perfect.

Some that I found helpful when switching from Windows...

iStat Pro / Nano - great dashboard app for looking under the hood;
Launchbar is cool (not free, though);
Himmelbar is nice for those moments when you feel lost without a start menu;
Yet another system utility (Yasu) makes routine maintenance easier
