iPad Bought an Air on a whim...

The air comes no where even close to the mini for portability. Its much heavier and about 40% larger. The mini is the best on the go tablet. The air is more for in the house or office. Its just not practical like the mini is. Thats why the mini outsold the 4th gen ipad in the past year, cause people want more portability. I cant even remember the last time ive seen someone in public lugging around a full sized ipad. Most leave them at home cause theyre just too cumbersome. Its like lugging around a solid marble tile.

I don't have a source, but I've read quite a few articles over the past year claiming the mini is outselling the 4. Makes sense, because the 4 was not a very eye-catching upgrade over the 3. It just got a faster CPU, lightning port, and a few other internal improvements. The mini was an entire new form factor. I myself bought a mini but skipped the 4, because I was waiting for the iPad to become lighter, and I felt the 3 was plenty fast enough for my usage.

No offense, but people who take pics with their ipad in public are morons. Its the most oxymoron thing ever. Just because you see more with full size doesnt mean its better. Its the same type of people who buy 17" 10lb laptops.

relax....i never said i take pics with it..just what i notice when i'm out and about. weren't you the one that was having issues with the rMini and the screen quality? now it's insanely awesome?

If I already owned a 3rd or 4th gen I may have waited till the next gen with more RAM but I have a mini with cellular. I could not wait another year!

With all due respect, I believe the mini outsold the 4th gen iPad because frankly nearly nobody bought the 4th gen. The 4th gen iPad blindsided consumers because it was released just six months into the 3rd gen's life cycle.
