Just got back from my BB. Was disappointed as none of the western WA stores got any 128 GBs in nor are they projecting to get any in.:( Seems Apple is keeping all of the 128s so ended up with the last 64GB black one. Sort of disappointing but I do like the Air itself. It is about as light as my mini was just abit bigger. And I got to thinking I do have my movies on a wireless seagate drive so can get by with the 64 just have gotten use to the 128 I had.

A data point of one at a Best Buy. The Mission Viejo Apple store had about 50 people in line when I did my personal pickup.

Certainly true. I should have added, "How's it looking where you live?" My report was for the Oxford Valley, PA Best Buy.

The Best Buy I went to had nearly as many 128GB models as 16GB, and they had a lot of both. I was going to buy a 128GB, but have an iPad 4 in that size, and never put more than 70GB of music and large movies on it. My 64GB Mini helped me to prioritize, but your situation could be entirely different. ;)

I bought mine at Sam's Club (in Wilkes Barre, PA) at 10:30am. I was worried they would be sold out by the time I got there. They informed me I was the first person to buy the Air today.

One thing that surprised me today was that I planned on buying a black ipad air but Sam's club said they only got the white model (16gb), so I ended up with the white which is no big deal to me.

I was inline for a Texas Bestbuy 40 inline not sure how much they normally have as this is my first non shipped iPad. Went back at4pm for a friend they sold out of 128 and all 64 4g but still had wifi. That morning they had stacks of both.

People were reporting the samething last year, but they still sold 3 million in 3 days. I'm expect the same this time around.

A few anecdotes here and there isn't representative of sales as a whole. This thing was released in a bunch of countries simultaneously. Sales will be outstanding, just not as outstanding as iPhone sales.

I know of no impressive android competitor and I'm pretty familiar with them. Apparently no one uses them either judging by stats.
People seem to be expecting iPhone like sales. I think they are and will be selling very well.

Agreed. After going through 3 Galaxy Note 10 tablets this week and returning for various defects, I gave up and got an iPad Air today. I use both Android and ios devices and can say that no 10" Android tablet can compare in terms of quality and performance.

That being said, while the iPad Mini is a nice tablet, the Retina ones are way overpriced. The Nexus 7 is an excellent tablet for the money and the 7-8" market, I think, is where android tablets excel. Just trying to be fair. :)

Btw, picked up a black 32gb iPad Air at Fry's today, around 3pm. They had just put them in the cage at front, I think I may have been the first to buy on there, lol. Not sure about the other configs, but this store had only received 6 black 32's.

I went there at 2pm, and they had a cage filled with Airs. I asked if they had sold many, and the salesman said TWO!!!!! This is in an affluent suburban Philadelphia store, and people weren't even looking at the Air. The salesman said everyone is waiting for the Mini, and the few people looking at iPads were looking to see if the Minis were retina yet.

I haven't had a chance to even open my box, so I'll have to get to that sometime soon. Just thought I'd pass the lack of sales along.......

Most Apple customers work 9-5's.
