Not sure what problems my carrier has with the current iPhone launch, but I was never able to find ANYTHING but Space Gray or Silver 16GB models. Today they finally had a 32GB model (in Silver) and although I wanted a Space Gray model with 64GB and because they said that they won't have any other color or a 64GB for about another month I decided to get this one.

Would you have done the same?

I got my 64GB Space Gray... I just waited less than 3 days.

Full disclosure: I kept checking regularly the model I wanted stock availability at Apple Stores via Apple's site.

No. On launch day, I visited a corporate carrier store and a few other places over the week, such as Target and the Apple Store; there were still numerous Space Grey 5s' in all capacities at the corporate store. Target had a couple of 16GB Space Grey versions. It was not the color I wanted, so I did not settle. My phone still works, and a jailbreak is still not available.

That being said, you may not be as patient as me, but you may have more justification for needing a new handset now. Congrats on the new iPhone. :)

I would never settle for something that cost a considerable amount just because I can't wait.

Don't just settle for what they have in stock just so you'll have it now. Even if you have to wait for a month, you will be much happier the following 11 months... until iPhone 6 is out.

Online purchase, and it will arrive sooner than looking around for one at a retail or carrier store. Online for me, and 10 days later it arrived.

It's not that I'm less happy with the white version. Plus it's only a small compromise for the storage capacity since I rarely watch movies on my iPhone, I prefer my iPad or my Mac for that. (and I can still save a few of them)

I'm on my third &%@!ing week of waiting for my 64g space gray 5S. Ordered from apple.com

To say I'm irritated is an understatement.

lol- grey or gray are both correct in the American English language. Its one of the few words that can be used

I'm gonna buy another 5s this time a sprint 32gb in gold as a Christmas gift through Apple. Hopefully it comes by then lol
