That is the 64GB model, and please do not ask that question above, that does sound like a real troll. Just enjoy it and move on that you got the discount.

Yes, b/c you cannot determine it.

I did google search and can't find how

I download system info app but it only show hour usage from the last reset, not from manufactured day. I want to make sure that it was not used before

You can't, as far as I know. All that you can do is restore as a new ipad. and then update and see if it happens again.

It's Craigslist, so yes, it's possible. Everything on Craigslist is risky (and likely used)... even the women!

I wouldn't sweat it though. If it's clean, and works well, who cares if someone used it for a few days?

it is easy to say that when it is not your ipad. of course, I care. the ad was for a brand new. So I would expect it is new. otherwise I would not contact the seller. second, my ipad is my personal gadget and I don't want anyone to use it before I do.

No... it's just easy to say that when buying from Craigslist. Buyer beware, right? Again, if it was mine, and it appeared completely new, and worked well, and I saved money by buying on Craigslist, then I wouldn't worry about it. I can say it, because I've been there.

If you really are worried about someone using something before you do... if it's *that* high of a priority, spend a few more bucks and buy new.

I just got an ipad 3 64GB from craigslist. it is brand new. I went through the initial setup using my existing ipad profile saved in icloud previously.

when I first used it, it popped up and asked for my apple Id password and my email passwords, as expected. but it also popped up and asked for password for an apple ID that is not mine. something like "y2j12d@yahoo.ca"

is it possible the ipad was used before? but it was loaded with my profile from icloud.

Ya think?

Of course, you also have to wonder why somebody would take and almost $200 loss, when you add tax in, when they could have returned it for a full refund.

It's easy to tell if it was previously used. Just go to Apple's "warranty checking site" and enter the serial number. If it had previously been activated on iTunes there will already be a warranty start date, if it never was activated there will be none. Warranty start date is the day it was first activated on iTunes or the day that the Apple store set it up for you if you let them open it in the store.

she got three new ipad 3 64GB. two of my friends bought the other ipad 3 from her. why would she buy three ipad to use and then sell. From the serial number, it was made the first week of April and I bought on April 13.

Did the back of the box happen to have a huge sticker on the back? I know for one thing, people win iPads out of those machines which charge you a dollar a try at the mall and such. I bought two iPad 2s off some kid on CL one time from where he got them.

Why would she buy/sell three iPads to lose money? A year from now I could sell the new iPad for more money than she charged you. It sounds suspect.

Yeah, you're real helpful....I think you labeled the wrong person troll. Oh, wait did I just feed the troll....damn will I ever learn!

Yes, b/c you cannot determine it. That's like asking how many times a deck of cards has been shuffled in its lifetime.

What the heck are you talking about??

He is not trolling so lets move on.

----------

The problem isn't the iPad, it's his backup. He has music that someone else purchased and that's the account that's showing up.

Ding Ding Ding!

You get what you pay for ...

Brilliant and other useless information you'd like to share?

Now this is the correct question to ask when buying from craigslist. Something for the OP to consider in the future.

Here's the bottom line. As long as its an IP3 and Apple will cover it for you then you are good, it does not matter if it might have been used for a brief moment, and the discussion is really over.

If you feel like you cannot get it serviced under warranty, for whatever reason, then you may want to contact the seller.

Now, take that savings and get Applecare+

looks like no one knows of the icloud bug, itll load up random emails from apple id's when you try to do a restore from backup over icloud. try it again, im sure itll load up another email.

this is a known bug which still hasnt been fixed, look it up.

Its not like checking a woman for virginity..:p

look at the big thread on yellow tint. people turn on brightness to the max in a dard room looking at extreme angles to find backlight bleed. we are dead serious about our ipad and expect perfection.
