    Hi all,

I recently bought iPhone 4Gs and had before that the 3Gs.

I backed up using iCloud : I have no FaceTime :-(

Can anyone help me resolve this issue?

    Thanks!

Its part of the Phone app. Make a phone call and you'll see it.

It's there, it's just integrated and not a separate icon.

Check to see if it's turned on. Go to settings, FaceTime, and see if the switch is set to on or off.

I'd try restoring the phone then. I don't even have it turned on, but it's listed so I can, if I decided I wanted to use it.

    That doesn't make sense.
    Take it to Apple.

To use Face time: phone has to be running off a router. It also only works with iphone4 on either side of call (4S??), It needs the power from router to make calls. hope that helps.

You mean it just has to be via WiFi rather than cell signal (3G/etc.), right? That's true, but it seems the issue here is more with the actual FaceTime settings and feature not even showing up on the phone, before even actually trying to use it.

What version of iOS you have? there is no way you dont have facetime under settings. you either have older version OS or you bought a 3GS =p

No, get your phone on a wifi network, then go on and make a call like usual. Then when you pull the phone away from your yeah, where you usually see things like add a call, hold, hide keypad, look for "facetime" its there. I promise you. There is no icon for it like there is on the iPod Touch. becuase the iPod Touch doesnt have a "phone" app like the iPhone, so they just made a icon for it on the Touch.

It sounds like the problem the original poster is having is that FaceTime isn't actually there for him/her.

In settings; Go to "General" and turn "Restrictions" on or off. it might be in there.

check restrictions, make sure camera and facetime is on, go to settings, phone, facetime on if its on a lower software version, im sure the setting used to be in there

    also try settings/general/reset/reset all settings

    ----------

    First, try this process:

Navigate to Settings > General >Restrictions and select “Enable Restrictions”
Set the FaceTime restriction to on
    Select “Disable Restrictions”
Go to Settings > Phone, and you should now see a FaceTime option, which you can turn on.
Failing the above, restore your iPhone 4 as a new phone. This will delete contacts and other data, but may resolve this issue. To do so, connect your iPhone or iPod touch to your computer, click “Restore” in iTunes, then choose “setup as new phone.”

I didn't give them a lay out like you did. I have restrictions turn "OFF", and i get facetime. I replied my post to the wrong person though (not thread starter) i noticed.
