Hi

I bought an iphone SE this weekend.. It works like a charm and i like the size and everything

Its just that when i use default ios photos app and view a photo and changes orientation, it crashes and becomes unresponsive and i have to close the app.

Does this happen with any iPhone users here? Do you think its an hardware issue?

Try a fresh restore and see if it still happens, then you can take it in. I dunno if a faulty accelerometer would crash the software, but then again I've never experienced one!

I have had mine two weeks now and I noticed mine was hanging at times(freezing for a few seconds) it happened in the news app and YouTube when turning to full screen video. I don't see it happening now and I haven't done anything to try and correct it.

My friend she bought an SE and told me her phone kept crashing and restarting.

After 3 (THREE) visits to Apple they finally agreed to replace it. They kept telling her to restore. Poor girl wasted a bunch of time and money.

Apple kept blaming snapchat for the issue but clearly it was a hardware fault. The phone is working fine now.

Hello i have tried a full restore and factory reset too but the accelerometer doesnt seem to work all the times in default photos app and crashes the app..

What could be the issue then?

Have you updated to 9.3.2? If the issue still occurs and you can replicate the issue easily, I would schedule an appointment at an Apple Store to show them the issue. Since you're still within the return period (even if you weren't) they should replace the device if they can verify it's a hardware related issue. You can also test on their demo iPhones in the store to see if they have the same issue.

just updated to 9.3.2. Didnt see the issue till now..

Lets see as the issue is intermittent and doesnt occur every time..

The issue still pertains on my iPhone SE I can recreate it everytime now

Just hold the iphone with lock orientation "off" and keep the photos app open, then shake iPhone vigorously and it hangs!

I am returning it back to seller as it is under 15day return policy as per online seller..

Guys and girls who have SE, can they confirm of their phone hangs by performing above steps...

Why would you "shake it vigorously" in any app, let alone photos? That's stupid.

Regardless, I tried it, as well as using photos like a normal, sane person, and can't recreate your problem on my SE.

Does it happen when you use photos normally? Because if not, maybe you should just use your phone normally instead of shaking it for long durations.

Don't be a jerk, you can shake your phone to undo typing. I don't know about other apps.

My SE hung for a bit when I just got it, but enerything worked itself out in a day. I am on 9.3.2 now, and no problems at all here.

i did it on purpose just to recreate the bug in short time instead of waiting for it to happen..

Photos app still hangs in normal usage .. Sometimes it freezes or crash when i change the orientation by rotating the iphone
