I just want some feedback from people who actually have spent ~$400 on 4GBx2 DDR3 Modules on their MBPs.

I am in a bit of a pickle: I definitely need a memory upgrade; but I don't know if I should buy a 2GBx2 or a 4GBx2. The 2GBx2 is ~$110 but if I decide I want 4GBx2 down the road, then I will have to sell my 2x2 and buy it.

Any advice?

Thanks.

check my sig for specs but when using aperture or any other memory intense program it works great to have 8 GB of RAM. I've had 8 GB of RAM for almost a year now and push it past 4 GB of ram in use at least once a day. I paid $1,000 for it a year ago so for me $300-$400 would be a bargain. I'm running 10.6 btw :apple:

Do you know anything about "Newer Technology" (My link). The NuRAM seems to be $50 cheaper.
Thanks!
I think that's OWC's "house" brand. If its guaranteed to work, why not?

I'm not sure if your laptop will run with only 1 4GB stick. If it can, you can always try that route first and if you need more RAM, add another later.

If OWC is selling it, it can't be bad. Their support is great too so in case of problem, just give them a call and your problem is solved
