I got a MBP 15" for college (the cheapest model of the two) and it has three setup discs or whatever but I'm curious: Are these OSX installation discs or what? Could I reinstall 10.6 on this or would I need to go buy a OS disc from Best Buy for $30 to do a fresh install?

btw if this post is against rules I'm sorry.

You can do a fresh install of OS X on the exact model of Mac that the discs came from. Meaning, you can't use the restore discs from an Intel GMA MacBook in an Nvidia 9400m MacBook.

On the 15" Unibody MacBook Pro?

Say howlo to mey lil fan!

Did you look at the DVD disks you got with the new computer? Mine are a year old now, so your disks may be different, but I got 2 disks which say "Mac OS X Install DVD" (with "Mac OS version 10.6" at the bottom) and "Applications Install DVD" so I can't understand what/why you are asking this. 😕
