I just bought Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable ,connect it to my monitor that have DP connection and nothing.. the green light appear for a sec and no signal message pop on the screen.
I have MacBook Pro 2011 13" please help

It could be a bad cable or the MacBook is not compatible with the monitor.

Are you able to try another cable or monitor?

It could be that there is a compatibility issue between the MacBook and monitor or possibly a bad TB/DP port on the MacBook.

All I know is that your MacBook must be connected to the charger (also the case with my mid-2014 MBP), if it isn't connected the display out of your MacBook doesn't work.

What OTHER connections does the display have on the back?

What is the model number of the display?
Displayport, HDMI, VGA - AOC G2460VQ6
The seacond Display - AOC E2270Sw - HDMI VGA

none of them works with the adapters that i have

Peet_B - My mac is always connected to the charger.
