A USB c to USB type a could get you out of trouble in the future. Other than that I just replaced cables and brought a hub to I dock once rather than plug multiply things in but that depends on your work flow.

congrats on your purchase, i bought my first one more than a decade ago and have never looked back.

you are in the right place to learn what you can do with them :)

which hub did u buy?

I just got my first Mac laptop yesterday, a 15' MBP. I have iPads, a mac pro and a Mac mini.

I really love this machine.

If you've only ever used Windows, prepare for a slight learning curve with macOS. Basically the same functionalities, only sometimes executed a bit differently. When stuck, ask (for advice), and you (mostly) shall receive.

Other than that, peruse these forums for information, and enjoy the MBP.

probably a usbc to usba adapter for flash drives, charging iphone, usb backup drives, etc. under $10 for apple or 3rd party

If you tell us what you use a computer for then there will be a lot more advice about apps and best practice for you.

oh, well im a casual user. browsing/listening to music. downloading tons of movies/tv shows. light gamer. gonna use to for classes too

Cool ok well for torrents use transmission it's a great little torrent app.

Try and use safari rather than chrome as a browser chrome is very badly optimised on macs.

iTunes is fine for music but you'll want VLC for running all file types for movies.

I use skim for pdfs it's far lighter on resources than preview so that will be good for school.

thanks man
so transmission is gonna replace utorrent
safari instead of chrome.
skim instead of Adobe
was already using itunes and vlc so im good there.

i forgot to ask but how do i stream torrents on a mac?

I went for this sleeve. Its quite a basic sleeve as I use it within another bag/travel case but it fits and protects my Macbook Pro TB 13" very well with around half cm top and side

thanks. im gonna buy this now

Congrats. I wouldn't get a clear skin - it'll make the trackpad feel a whole lot worse and it doesn't need it. Get a nice sleeve and take care of the computer and you'll be fine.

Agreed. No skin on trackpad.
