So I took advantage of the deal that att.com was having for the XS, got my Mom a 64GB Silver XS for $1 a month, and my Sister a 512GB Gold for $20 a month, seems like a good deal, neither care about having the latest and greatest unlike myself, even though I'll be sitting out 2020. So are these still good phones in 2020? My XS Max works great on iOS 14, also the 512GB came yesterday, has iOS 12.0 on it, waiting on the 64GB to ship, kind of weird the higher capacity shipped right away.

Should have mentioned my Mom has a 6+ and my Sister a 7+ as current iPhone's.

Bad deal! /s

Of course it was a good buy. Esp. if ATT service works for your family. I'm sure your sister and mom appreciate the gesture.
Yeah, we've had nothing but great service with ATT, we also have DIRECTV, so we get a credit for having ATT Wireless's Unlimited Plan. Been with them since the year the 6S came out, the 6+ was my first iPhone, well 2nd, I took back the 6 due to issues with nausea and headaches.

As long as they don't mind the downgrade in screen area, they'll be happy with the significant speed and feature upgrades.

From my experience, 5.5" Plus users want at least the 6.1" model especially if they're using it a lot.

pretty great deal. XS is still more than a solid phone and non-power users shouldn't feel any differences at all when compared to the latest line up 👍

yeah, good deal. My wife has a Xs, and it in no way feels like a 2 year old phone. Still super fast, great camera, terrific screen, etc.

My Mom's 64GB XS just came, weird, it came with 13.3.1, while the 512GB XS for my Sister came with 12.0.

Different ship dates to the stores. Old stock. Not a big deal
I figured, since the 512GB seems to be older, as it was dead out of the box, had to charge it before I could turn it on, where the 64GB was certainly newer, and was at like 30% battery.

They liked the size of it, since it's bigger screen than the 5.5 Inch Plus's they had.

Yeah it's a great phone, too small for me, that's why I didn't go with the X when it was originally announced, but the next year when the XS and XS Max were announced, I went with the Max.

The XS has a smaller screen because of the way it's measured. It's a narrower rectangle compared to the Plus.

It's obvious to anybody using it. The XS display is about 1/4" narrower compared to the Plus.

I get that, I remember being in SamsClub when the X came out, and comparing it to my then I think 7+, and didn't like it, cause I watch videos on my iPhone XS Max, well at that point the 7+, but for my Mom & Sister, they like the size, no it's not bigger as in narrower, but the screen is bigger in a way that helps my Mom, she has bad vision at times due to her MS, so the "bigger" screen helps, plus having large, and bold text and big icons work for her.

I bought my girlfriend an iPhone XS new for 600€ on Cdiscount (a French Amazon-like) 8 months ago. She was delighted coming from an SE 2016. It was priced at 1159€ day one (XS 64 Gb). So almost half the price ! 😊
