Thread title is pretty self-explanatory, but today my new Magic Keyboard arrived and wanted to give it a spin with my 12.7" iPad Pro (3rd generation). Whatever what I try, the trackpad just doesn't work. There's no cursor showing up.

Am I missing something? Tried shutting off iPad completely and turning back on, but alas. I have the new iPad Pro 12.7" coming in a few weeks, but unsure if it's related to my iPad or if I received a faulty Magic Keyboard.

I received my new Magic Keyboard today to use with my 3rd gen 12.9 (not 12.7) and the keyboard and trackpad work flawlessly out of the box. Using it to type this.

Is this the 2021 MK, or the 2020 MK?

I’m having the same issue. It is a brand new 2021 Magic Keyboard and a 2018 3rd gen iPad Pro. I’ve tried removing and re-attaching it, but no luck thus far. I’ll be checking back in here to see what folks have to say. I hope it isn’t defective.

For those interested - upgrading to the latest 14.6 public beta fixed the issue!

Glad you found the source of the problem. There is no 12.7” iPad Pro, though. Only the 12.9”. ;)

Damn - I just booked in my return of the magic keyboard for this exact issue.

Edit - and updating to 14.6 Beta 3 fixed the issue
