I am a new Mac user and want to "wipe" and start over, like i said i purchased the latest version.
I don't have any of his DVD's for original OS
Is it possible to erase this hard drive and install fresh

Just boot into your new Snow Leopard DVD by holding 'C' during boot. Then open up the top menu: Utilities—>Disk Utility. Select the HDD partition and choose the Erase tab; then erase it.

Exit Disk Utility and follow the instructions to install OS X.
