Box handles in Illustrator

Hi,

The little box handles that allow to resize an object with the selection tool (black arrow) are deactivated. Before trying to reinstall Illustrator to see if it's a bug, has anyone got an idea to turn them back on ?

Bounding box? It's under the view menu.

I have this problem almost every day in Illustrator CS3. I find that switching to the scale tool and then back to the selection tool ought to do it.

(I'm assuming you're not having bigger problems here, and it's just a random disappearance of the handles.)
