Still working for me.
Looked like 8 boxes, 10 iphones each. Looked to me like about 20 whites, 40 blacks, and I'm assuming 20 more 8gb blacks.
I counted 8 boxes of 10 iPhones each. Hard to tell how many white vs. black. At least 20 whites. I wonder how many of the blacks are 16gb vs. 8gb.
I wonder how long it will take them to sell through that.
I asked my local store how many people they'd have working. They said everyone. I saw 6 registers, so I assumed they could check out 6 people at a time. If you figure the 15 minutes Apple stated to sell one, that would be 6 people in 15 minutes, 24 people in an hour. 80 phones would last a little over 3 hours. I had been planning to show up in the afternoon. Maybe not such a good idea after all.
On the other hand, if they take 30 minute per customer, that would take 6 hours, until 2pm roughly.
Or they may not have all the registers going. The original AT&T email talked about having responsibilities for employees, greater, someone to manage the line. If they only have 4 registers going, that would be 16 people/hour, 5 hours until they run out, or 10 hours at 30 minutes per customer.
I saw an AT&T email also tried to assure the store that there is plenty of inventory and to continue selling even after they run out. They said they would be handled via "direct fulfillment". I don't know if that means they'll ship your iPhone to the store or directly to your house.
How long were the lines at AT&T stores last time? Is it possible to bring a laptop and work in line? Will they give out numbers?
