I was just curious about how fast your mac is and all of the specs. Include what else you have that you use with your computer. (Ie: surround sound system, anything portable, Mp3 player, digital camera...)

At work:

G4 tower with Cinema Display, 512 RAM, attached CD burner.

I have one for my daily tasks, and two more of the same set up, one running OS X and the other running OS X Server for research and troubleshooting.

Also a Ti PowerBook for going on the road.

At home:

Recently got rid of my 20th Anniversay Macintosh and will be getting an iBoing. (I just use the PowerBook at home when I need to in the meantime)

It's nice being in the Educational Technology department. :)

Ha ha haaa!
Heh...

G4 400 PCI, 1GB RAM (technically I have 1.5GB in there, but good ol' Yikes! can't read more than 256MB per DIMM. Ain't that nice.) 20GB HD, external 12x10x32 QPS CD-RW.

Peripherals: HP ScanJet 5370C, Epson 880i, Altec Lansing ASC65i speakers (in bondi, right before they came out with graphite, grrr), Kodak DX3500 dig cam, and a brand new pair of Sony TMR-RF975R wireless headphones for those long nights playing Q3A. ;)

Oh, and as for BRAGGING, the only thing I'll be bragging about is replacing my troublesome G4 as soon as the word "G5" leaves Steve's lips.

I'm in the process of building a Mac parallel computing cluster for physics research. Currently I have a G4 733 in my office and a G4 867 in my lab. I have run them in parallel with performance over 5 GFlops. Probably could do something similar with just a dual-800, but some day I will have roughly ten machines in the cluster. I'm just waiting for new towers....

Sadly, I am writing this from home on my Power Tower Pro 225 (604e clone). Fortunately, I do have a TiBook (400 MHz, but still ...) that is all my own. But it shuttles between home and work so I just leave the Power Tower hooked to the cable modem.

Anyway, once the Mac cluster is really up and kicking I will be sure to come back and post some killer specs. Probably late this year before I really have a nice setup, though.

hardware

At work:

G4 733MHz (pre-QuickSilver) with 512MB Ram, superdrive, DLT tape drive attached for archiving. Running OS 9.2.2 99% of the time, occasionally booting into 10.1.2.

At home:

G4 500MHz tower (agp graphics), upgraded with a 32MB ATI Radeon video card, 27GB hard drive along with a 40GB (both internal), 1.5GB of RAM. Using a ViewSonic VG175 lcd monitor on it. Us OS 9.2.2 about 75% of the time, otherwise I boot into 10.1.2.

VST/Smartdisk 30GB FireWire hard drive (titanium one)

Epson C80 printer

Epson Perfection Photo 2450 scanner (connected via FireWire)

About to get a LaCie 32x10x40x FireWire burner (waiting for it to arrive).

G4 500MHz TiBook (rev A), 512MB RAM, added Airport. I use this one 95% of the time, at least for daily and internet use. I power up the G4 tower for scanning and such. On this one, I run OS X 10.1.2 99.5% of the time.

I also have the pc that I built, but that is for games only (won't bother with details).

All of my systems have DVD-Rom/DVD-RAM drives in them, but I don't watch movies with the computers since I have the DVD player attached to the TV (27" is much better then a 19" screen for that).

Well I am new here...not a lot to brag about but I love my iMac DV Blueberry, I call him "Macky" and he is the best buddy in the world next to "Rusty" my Golden Retriever...hehe I would have to say "Macky" is slightly more dependable then "Rusty" hehe...sorry boy...I still love ya!

I also got a shiny new iBook a month ago. I love it. It is working well for me. I network the two and then I can share files and burn CD's on the iBook. I also have an Imation SuperDisk...because some people that I know still have to hand me a blasted floppy every now and then. I have an HP Deskjet 842C printer...don't laugh it was a freebie when I got the iMac and I have an iSub for my iMac. I got a pro-mouse for the iBook...but laugh as you might...I still kinda prefer my "Hockey Puck" anyone else???LOL I have a digital camera...but I want a better one and well that is about it...any questions? Oh ya I am running system X 10.1 too. This is my first month, I decided to convert when I got the iBook. Alas...this whole month...no matter what I do it will not crash...no more "mac lock" YEAH! Later...

I have a PB G4 Ti 550

A 800mhz Duron (My netserver) with geforce 1 and SB Live

A 750mhz Duron with Radeon 7200

A 1200mhz AMD Athlon with All in Wonder Radeon, SB Live, 512 DDR RAM, 80GB etc

I wish I did not have to use PCs, but they are much cheaper and are better at games. But the PB G4 is better at games than most of my friends PCs.

ONE TO TOP THEM ALL!!!

i've got a performa 5200CD (road apple)!!

but seriously, my awesome computer that is better than anyone else's is an indigo 500Mhz iMac! i've got a macally scroll-wheel mouse and soundsticks (other than the look, they suck for the price. they are always having USB problems i.e. NOT hot plug-able)

but i'm thinking about getting an older g4 so if anyone has a 500mhz G4 AGP with a DVD drive, i'd be happy to buy it from you.

My comp beats all of yours!

Original beige G3 (233MHz), 384MBs RAM, 7200rpm 30GB HD, ATI Rage IIc (or something similar, I'm not quite sure) w/2MB vram, 10.1.2, 9.2.2

And at my friend's house we set up a cluster of his G4 450 and his sister's Powerbook G3 233 last night. It didn't work very well.
