I just opened this box to my brand new Macbook. This thing is like 1 hour old since the shirk wrap came off.

I opened it to put a screen film/protector on the brand new screen which is something I always do with my new computers, and when I was done I noticed this bulging on the one side. (The other side looks great).

Should I just take the bottom off and try to reseat it or does it sound like a bad battery or something to you guys?

So here's an update. Took it back to Bestbuy and got a really nice techie type of guy to help me. He exchanged the computer no problem, but out of curiosity he pulled the cover off. It was pretty obvious it was a bad battery. I had never even gotten as far as charging it so who knows how that would have panned out if I did. I have never gotten a defective Apple product. I like this computer but am also kind of disappointed that the other one made it through quality control like it did. Just wanted to up date everyone.

That most likely just happened from sitting on the shelf. I once had an old white MacBook swell up overnight so that the trackpad pushed up through the palm rest breaking the plastic on each side. I never saw that coming.

WOW, I never ran into any of this stuff before LOL. That would be eye opening. I'd be spooked for sure. Thanks for sharing and commenting JackieInCo
