As title says really
Took delivery of my first iMac today after years of Windows machines.
All was well for an hour until it completed an update, on restart half the screen was multi coloured vertical lines, forced a restart now it's just a black screen.
I'm assuming the gpu is knackered but it seems strange it was ok until update.
So far I've tried the command/option and P + R keypress in restart and unplugged power but no success
Any tips from anybody or is it back in the box and back to retailer!??
[doublepost=1560290624][/doublepost]Should add that the screen does light up and I can hear the internals working away, makes me think it is the GPU.
[doublepost=1560291376][/doublepost]An update
Got past the black screen using the option/command with p + r keys but now it's just thick pink vertical bars across the while screen with black vertical lines through them.
Looks like it's going back.
Very frustrating
