So I walked into an apple store after the media event today and picked up my $100 off iPad 2. I also bought AppleCare. I got home and opened the iPad only to find 5 nicks in the aluminum back. Super frustrating. Anyone else have this type of issue? Is this poor quality control or are they reselling returned ipads as new? Also, i am having difficulty figuring out what is covered by the $79 AppleCare I just bought. Is accidental damage covered?

Sounds like really bad luck. Issues that affect even 1% of iPads sold make huge news.

The $79 AppleCare doesn't protect against accidental damage. The new $99 AppleCare+ that was announced today for the iPad gives you two allowances for accidental damange with a $49 replacement fee each time.
